I touched on my interest in teaching group fitness and my initial teaching experiences.
I’ve been teaching. And developing my skills. Working on my technique.
But I’ve been radio silent on my progress as I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
For this:
Back in January I made it a semi-private goal to become a BodyStep instructor. I wasn’t sure if I was just grasping at straws, or if I’d be plagued with too much doubt to go through with it.
But through a combination of support from Dan and my best gym friend, Kim, and a lot of determination and practice, I made it through initial training, team teaching, peer assessment, and finally a video assessment to acheive this certification.
I almost don’t even recognize the girl I was back in January. Through the work I did to acheive this certificate, I didn’t just grow stronger and fitter. I changed how I saw challenges and set backs and things that used to make me quake don’t even register. When I think about something I want to do, I don’t see roadblocks and hurdles anymore. I see fun, an adventure. And I’m sure I can do it.
Pst…I’m planning a post (or maybe a couple of posts) detailing how I went about earning my certification. If you have any questions for me, please leave them in the comments, and I’ll work those answers in those posts. Thanks!
