This month I was in charge of making and bringing in playdough for Kate’s preschool class.  The teachers provided me with the recipe.  It was easy enough.  I tried to make it the day before it was due.  And it was just a big liquid mess.

I confessed to the teachers that I failed.  My first (and really only responsibility) was to make the class playdough for October.  And I couldn’t even manage that.

So I tried again.  And as I was pulling out the flour, I thought to myself, hmmm…maybe, just maybe, this container of white stuff isn’t flour.

Well, oh geeze.

It was powerdered sugar.

Smacks forehead.

Turns out, the recipe works a lot better if you use the recommended flour and not powdered sugar.

I swear I have a Master’s degree.

Anyway, moving on, here are some links I loved this week:

+Lots of bloggers are taking on a 31 day challenge based on The Nester’s annual 31 days event.  Are you participating in a 31 day challenge?

+My friend, Marie, pointed me to Dog-Shaming.com.  The other night I rolled through page after page, laughing so hard I nearly peed my pants.  And then deciding maybe Belle’s not such a bad dog.

+I think I need every single item from this new line of spinning clothes at Lululemon.  I’m taping my RPM video next week, so I think I will deserve a treat after my taping, no?

+I’ve always wanted to be a journaler.  But besides this blog (and my Project Life pages), I’m not one for journaling.  Katie from Making This Home is an awesome journaler, and she wrote a great post this week on how to establish a journaling practice.

What links did you love this week?  Did you make a fool out of yourself this week, or was that just me?

XO!

Ohhh thanks for the mention, Sarah. I love the powdered sugar switch. That’s going to be such an awesome story that you can tell people for ages!

Last week I tried to list myself as the “reply to” email address for an eblast and instead bcc-ed myself…which I realized as I then received nearly FIVE THOUSAND emails in my Inbox. I felt like Mickey Mouse in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The emails just kept flooding in! It all turned out ok, though. :-)

Laughing so hard at the powdered sugar playdough (though that sounds tasty – one of my little preschool friends used to always eat my playdough). I’m mostly laughing because every time Larry has to cook something that involves flour, he looks through the canisters of dry goods with a perplexed look on his face, grabs one, and says “This is flour, right?” It’s almost always either powdered sugar or cornstarch! ;)
