I shared my love of coffee at the #lattelove Twitter party last week.  But drinking coffee is only part of my morning routine.  My favorite part of the day is sipping my hot coffee while pouring over my favorite blogs.

I can’t wait to open my Google Reader and peak into my favorite blogger’s lives.  It’s kind of like they invited me over for coffee and chitchatting.  Except for the part that they know me and invited me over for coffee.

Okay, some of these people know me.  As for the others?  I am their loyal reader.

Milk’s The Breakfast Project asked for my list of my favorite, must-read morning blogs, so here’s my “Morning Latte Makes My Breakfast Better” reading list:

Elise Blaha, Enjoy It.  I’m pretty sure Elise’s blog was the very first blog I put into my Reader.  I’ve been wracking my brain to figure out how I came across her blog, but I can’t remember.  But I’m sure glad I found her because I’ve been a loyal reader for the past four years.  I’m drawn to Elise’s blog because we’re close in age, both married, both have husbands with demanding jobs leaving us home alone, both love crafting (although she is definitely Queen in this category, and I’m the admirer), both love the color orange, etc…  I love her style, and I wish she lived here so I could hang out with her and check out all these quilts she’s been making.

Rachel, Funnelcloud.  Rachel actually knows me!  So stalking her blog doesn’t count as real stalking, right?  Rachel is a talented artist who also takes stunning pictures of anything.  She can make flip flops look pretty.  Everytime I click open one of her posts and see all her beautiful pictures, I’m inspired to take beautiful pictures (We have THE SAME camera), yet, I can’t seem to get quite the same look.  She’s talented, that Rachel.  And we’re good friends, so I’m going to hit her up for some photography lessons.

Gretchen Rubin, The Happiness Project.  I know, I know.  How many times can I talk about Gretchen Rubin.  It turns out lots more.  (Look for a review of her new book, Happier at Home, on the blog soon.)  Anyway, I love Gretchen’s blog because she offers tangible tips, strategies, and ways to think about happiness that can be easily applied to everyday life.

Ali Edwards, Memory Keeping for a Modern World.  I’ve been reading Ali for about as long as I’ve been reading Elise, and I love her blog because she’s not just a “scrapbooker.”  She’s about preserving memories via a varity of ways like week in the life, December Daily, and prompts like “currently,” “right now,” etc…  Ali’s a mom of two, so her thoughts about capturing her children’s lives also resonate with me.  She’s a lovely writer, business woman, and inspiration.

So now you know that every morning, I’m sitting in my pajamas, drinking coffee, and turning on Dino Dan for Kate, so I can read through my favorite blogs and get my inspiration for the day.  Are you a morning blog reader?  What are your must-read blogs every morning?

Okay, how would you like to win one of those cute latte mugs?  You can!  Leave me a comment with your favorite must-read blogs, and I’ll enter you to win a mug.  The giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, and I’ll announce the winner Friday, October 12, 2012.

Disclosure:  I received products and compensation from Milk and The Motherhood as part of my participation in this campaign.  All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.

If I had the dedication and focus to do this every morning, I would. I usually wake up, rush to get to work, and start my day – no looking back. It’d take some convincing to roll me out of bed an hour earlier and tune in to how others’ lives are unfolding, but I wonder if it’d be worth it. As it is now, I’m not even up until almost 8 a.m. How bad would it be to see 7? I’ll surely be looking at these blogs now. Thanks for the lovely list. I’m always on the hunt for new blogs to read because every once in a while, I find a gem. Maybe I’m picky, or maybe I don’t give them enough time, or maybe there aren’t many people who are 20something that are blogging about the things I’m feeling. Hm. Thanks for the thoughts.

Hmm, my comment didn’t post. Anyway, your lovely blog is the one I look for first every morning. :-) I also like Blonde & Balanced, Kayla Aimee’s Only Slightly Neurotic and A Beautiful Mess.

Cute mug! Some of my my favorite blogs are hip2save and forthemommas. I also love to look at random crafting blogs to get ideas of things to do with my almost 3 year old!

I’ve gotten much less regular about daily blog reading what with the whole international-move thing (even though you’d think I have a lot more time in my day for reading, but I manage to fill it with other things). But. When I do finally sit down every other day or every three days to catch up on blogs, I prioritize. I have a bunch of other Foreign Service/spouse blogs that I read, but some of my other favorites are The Everywhereist (travel blog), The Sweet Life (health/fitness blog written by my friend from real life, Ericka) and I USED to read The Life and Lessons of Rachel Wilkerson, but she recently started a new blog that I haven’t caught up with yet, The House Always Wins. And of course there is your blog! (You probably notice that I will comment on like five posts at once.) Something about knowing someone in person makes it more fun to read their blog!

I have A LOT of blogs I read but must-reads for me are: Amber (Girl with the Red Hair), Lisa (Lisa’s Yarns), Kristal (Mama at Home), and Joanna (A Cup of Jo). I love me a good mug – thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
