I’ve shared before that I’m a Marie Callendar fan. I’ve been known to enjoy a Marie Callendar pot pie. And Marie Callendar frozen pies were among the desserts my mom used to serve for both casual family nights and guests.
So when Marie Callendar offered me the opportunity to try out it’s new line of mini pies, I jumped at the chance.
Pies? Yes, please.
I purchased the mini chocolate satin pie (I found it in the frozen dessert section of my local grocery). Isn’t that the darn cutest packaging? Each package contains two mini pies. You can either defrost these pies in the microwave for 10 seconds or leave the pies out for 20 or 30 minutes before serving. I popped mine in the microwave, and they defrosted perfectly.
The serving size of these mini pies is perfect. I also love how there are two pies, so, if you wanted, you could have one pie and share the other with your significant other. Or your preschooler. Or eat them both yourself. What? I totally didn’t do that.
I’ve tried the larger version of this chocolate satin pie, which I love, but this mini pie did not disappoint. The whipped topping with the chocolate curls is sweet and fluffy with a chocolately crunch. The chocolate satin is smooth, thick, and creamy. And that chocolate graham cracker crust? The best.
