One month down.

Eleven to go!

Pretty low-keyed week around here.  The weather in Northern Virginia’s been a downer.

It’s been some mixture of rain and freezing rain and snow and cloudiness for what felt like forever.

So we hung around the house and played endless games of Hungry Hungry Farm Animals and Put Away All the Laundry.

The highlight of the week was the photoshoot for my Marie Callendar’s pie post.

Kate is still talking about that pie.

In other news, Dan and I found ourselves fans of a new show – HBO’s The Newsroom.  Have you seen it?  We’re crazy for it.  Sadly, we are all caught up and have to wait until June for the new season.  In the meantime, I am cruising through A Clash of Kings, so I can start A Storm of Swords in preparation for the new Game of Thrones season begins at the end of March.  What shows are you into?

We love “The Walking Dead” and are casual fans of “Modern Family.” That show is hilarious!! We always forget to watch/record it, though, so we just catch an episode here and there. Otherwise, we watch sports, sports, sports! :-)

Ok, I’m going to have to check out The Newsroom because I need a new HBO series to watch on my iPad! Do you guys watch HBO’s Veep? It’s freakin’ hilarious – highly recommend. (Larry says it’s the funniest show on television.) Season 2 starts in April, so you can easily catch up on Season 1 and it’s only a 30 minute show.

I really tried to like The Newsroom but the whole idealistic, we’re-going-to-save-journalism-by-doing-The-News (with “The News” pronounced in an exaggerated British accent) thing was too much for me. Maybe I’m too jaded and cynical, but objective journalism is dead. (Spoken like a true sellout who left for PR.)
