Week 5 was a big week at Casa Bagley.
Since I had the big ultrasound reveal Wednesday morning, I anxiously ran errands and cleaned Monday and Tuesday in anticipatiion of what Wednesday would bring.
Dan and I (and everyone else in our family besides my mom) predicted it would be another girl.
I had a girl name picked out. And I was thinking I’d spend the rest of the week sorting through the loads and loads of baby girl clothes I have tucked away in my basement.
But we were oh, so, wrong. Well, everyone except my mom. Seriously, she should get a job as a baby gender predictor.
Our little guy was shy, so it took the tech a good 20 minutes to determine – for sure – that he was, well, a he.
I almost fell off the exam table when the tech announced “boy.” And after I made her show me the heart chambers again and the brain and ensure my placenta looked good (I had a placenta issue with Kate that turned out to be nothing but it made me nervous I’d have the same issue again), the idea of a little boy started to sink in.
We’re so excited to welcome a boy into our little family. We’ve scrapped our girl name and are putting our girl clothes in storage and I’m excited to be a mother to a son. I come from all girls, so the idea of a little boy is new and exciting. I’ve got a plan for a boy nursery and just placed an order for some fabric for curtains, and some boy crib sheets are on their way to my house. I’ll show the bits and pieces as they arrive, and I hope to have the room set up in the next month or two. Oh, boy!
