Hello, week 39.

Wow.  Week 39?

I don’t get how my days can feel so slow but the year seems to zip by.  This time last year, I was newly pregnant and trying to conceal my nauseated state.  And sleeping on the couch several hours a day while Kate watched 7,157 episodes of Little Bear.

Still, to this day, when I hear that Little Bear theme song, I feel the need to dry heave.

Anyway!

What a difference a year makes.  This time last year I was certain – for sure certain – that I was carrying another girl.  Ha ha.  I think I thought girl because it’s all I know.  I am a girl.  I have a girl.  I have a sister.  So when we found out I was carrying a him – not a her – I thought, hmm… I don’t know much about hims.

Which is all funny now because I don’t spend any time thinking about how to parent a boy and instead just be a parent to Michael.  And we’re so glad he’s here.
