I love a fresh month! And I love September especially because it’s my birthday month! I am not super into birthdays in terms of big public displays, but I do love my birthday as a time for me to reflect on the past year from a personal perspective. Where I grew, where I stumbled, where I want to go.
While I am a firm believer in taking a fresh start whenever you want one, there is something nice about starting with a fresh month. I love making goals, but I don’t usually share them. Not because I’m embarrassed or because I’m secretive or because I’m worried I’ll fail in public. I think I don’t share them because I’m an Upholder, so I just kind of make, adjust, and work through goals on a constant and quiet basis. But! I love reading about what other people are working on, and I think there is value in sharing what worked for me, what didn’t work for me, and what I learned.
Here’s what I’m working on this month:
I’ve been into mindfulness for years, but I got deeper into mindfulness during my 200 hour yoga teacher training experience. While mindfulness can be controversial in terms of how much it really helps people, for me, it is a game changer. I signed up for the Mindful30 Challenge, so I will report in on how I find the experience, and how I practice mindfulness this month.
+Find a routine
For the first time, I have dedicated time to attend to my brand and my business and only my brand and my business. For the past several years I’ve juggled a couple different side hustles while also trying to blog and podcast, etc… Starting this week, I have some childcare and dedicated hours to building my brand. It feels exhilarating! And terrifying! I’ve come to realize that that is exactly how being an entrepreneur is supposed to feel. So. I guess it’s going right?! HA! This month I hope to create a block schedule for myself, as much as possible.
+Finish three chapters of my book
I am about 3/4 of the way through my book proposal. The last pieces are the sample chapters. I have the grand majority of the book written, but it’s in pieces. I’ve started getting the pieces in the right order, and out of that order, I found the three chapters I want to put in my proposal. Now I need to edit these and put them into the proposal.
What are you working on this month? I’d love to hear!
Are you signed up for my e-newsletter? I love putting my weekly e-newsletter together! I like to make it more personal and share more details about my life, what I’m currently loving, etc… Sign up here!
