Hello, Friday! I hope you had Monday off, so this felt like a short week. I hammered away creating content, fueled by our new coffee maker. Seriously, the world’s best coffee! This coffee maker deserves it’s own post. I’ll write up a post about why we needed a new coffee maker and why we picked the Technivorm Moccamaster.
I’m subbing yoga again this evening. This is only my second yoga class (for people NOT in my teacher training), so I’m a little nervous. But I know I’ll feel good after class. I’m also going to be teaching at the Machine Performance Center in Vienna! If you’re located in the greater Vienna area, let me know! I’d love to see you in my class!
This week I’ve also been thinking about creating a block schedule for myself. Do you use a block schedule to plan out your work? Ideally, I’d like to block off certain times for recording podcasts, writing, editing, etc… It feels like such a good idea, but I also have a lot of moving parts in my schedule that seem to roll around or only come around once in a while, making a block schedule not always possible. I am trying to limit certain tasks to certain days. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I’ve also been dedicating a few minutes each day to mindfulness. Mindfulness just feels good. Well, not always in the moment. In the moment, I’m thinking: I can’t sit here! I have 10000 things to do besides listening to my own breath! But, after I complete a session, I always feel refreshed. It’s a reminder that the benefits of mindfulness happen “off the mat” in my everyday life. I always feel more inspired and happier after several days of mindful practices.
