Around Here Lately // First Snow of 2019
As I’ve established, I am not a winter-weather lover. However, I’ve noticed my mood is much better this winter compared to previous winters, probably due to 1) not being pregnant, 2) not having a new-ish baby, 3) having bigger kids, and 4) I am happy and fulfilled in my career. So, when the snow hit our area on Sunday, I didn’t feel as bad about it as I normally do. I can’t say I enjoy or like snow, but winter hasn’t dragged me down as much as in past years. We still have a while to go, but so far, so good!
Here’s what’s going on around here lately:
Reading Nine Perfect Strangers and I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter. I am a fan of Liane Moriarty, so I’m excited to get deeper into Nine Perfect Strangers. I am reading I am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter for my high school’s book club, and so far, I’m enjoying it. I finished The Great Alone last week, and I loved it. It was sad…and kept getting sadder…and sadder! But overall I found it inspiring and got me thinking a lot about love and betrayal and complicated relationships.
Watching YouTube videos on how people are filling out their Powersheets. My Powersheets arrived last week, and I haven’t had a chance to touch them. I’m hoping to get started this week.
Listening to the The Uncurated Life Podcast by Cindy Guentert-Baldo. Cindy is a cool person on the Internet who makes YouTube videos on lettering, planning, bullet journaling, etc…and she’s a genuine person I enjoy. I love her podcast because I, too, am all about real life, as opposed to the high light reel, so I feel a connect to her and her message.
Working on lots of assignments for my teaching certification program. I have three written assignments each week, and I’m enjoying them. I’m worried about keeping up, but so far, so good.
Loving working at the high school. Each day is different, challenging, wacky, fun, and every day I feel that good kind of exhaustion. Each day after school I feel that accomplished type of tired.
Today is a snow day, so I’m hoping to squeeze in some reading, my Powersheets, and writing blog posts. What do you want to read? Is there something you’d like to see covered in a blog post and/or podcast episode? How are you dealing with winter so far?
